Terms and Conditions
Effective date: November 4, 2026
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to twowheeltouring.com and everything we offer through it: the website, Ride Files membership and GPX downloads, Guided Rides, documentation packages, equipment rentals, Shop orders, donations, and our videos. "Two Wheel Touring," "we," "us," and "our" mean [legal business name and entity type] and its owners, guides, and crew. "You" means anyone who uses the site or buys from us.
By using the site, buying a membership, booking a ride, renting gear, ordering from the Shop, or donating, you agree to these Terms and to our Legal page, which includes our Disclaimer and the Release of Liability every guided rider and renter must sign. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or our services.
1. Using the site
You must be 18 or older to buy anything, join Ride Files, book a ride, or rent gear.
Use the site lawfully. Don't try to break, overload, scrape, or get around its security or member restrictions.
Keep your account login private. You're responsible for activity on your account.
Route information, GPX files, and videos are for general information only. See the Disclaimer on our Legal page.
Links to other sites (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Ride with GPS, mapping tools, payment processors) are provided for convenience. Their own terms apply, and we aren't responsible for them.
2. Ride Files membership and GPX license
Plans and billing. Ride Files costs $5 per month or $50 per year. Your plan renews automatically at the then-current price, charged to your payment method at the start of each period, until you cancel.
Cancel anytime. You can cancel from your account or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future renewals. You keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. We don't give partial refunds for unused time unless the law requires it. If we change the price, we'll tell you before it applies to your next renewal.
Your license. While your membership is active, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use Ride Files GPX files and route descriptions for your own riding. You may load them into your own GPS, phone, or mapping apps.
You may not: share, post, sell, upload to route-sharing sites, email to others, or otherwise distribute the files or download links; share your login; or use the files for commercial tours or a competing product. A group you ride with may follow your route on the day, but each person who wants the file needs their own membership.
We may suspend or end a membership without refund for sharing files or links or other misuse, and may take further action to protect our work.
Routes can be wrong. GPX files and descriptions may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Roads close, gates get locked, private property changes hands, and snow, fire, floods, washouts, and construction happen. Check current closures, conditions, fire and weather information, and land-access rules before every ride. Obey posted signs and the law over any GPX file. Your device's routing may differ from ours. You ride at your own risk.
3. Guided Rides: booking, payment, cancellation, and rescheduling
Booking. Send a ride request through the form on our Guided Rides page. A request is not a booking. Your ride is confirmed only after we accept it, send an invoice, and receive your booking deposit. Prices are listed on the Guided Rides page and in your invoice. If they differ, the invoice controls.
Payment. - Booking deposit: 50% of the ride total is due at booking. It is non-refundable, except as described under Weather and Conditions below. It holds your date and the guides' day. - Balance: The remaining balance, plus any refundable rental deposits, is due 48 hours before the ride. If it isn't paid by then, we may treat the booking as cancelled by you.
If you cancel or reschedule:
When you tell us What happens 7 or more days before the ride We move your booking deposit to a new date within 6 months. You can do this once. If you don't ride by then, or you cancel the new date, the deposit is forfeited. Any balance paid is refunded. Less than 7 days but more than 24 hours before We keep the booking deposit. Any balance you've paid is refunded. Within 24 hours of the ride, or a no-show No refund of the deposit or balance.
Refundable rental deposits are always released as described in Section 5, whatever the cancellation timing.
Weather and conditions. If weather, wildfire or smoke, snow, road or land closures, or other unsafe conditions make the ride unsafe, we'll reroute, or reschedule at no charge, or give you a full refund (deposit and balance) if no new date works for you. Our guides make that call, in their judgment, and may make it on the day. Your own concern about the forecast is not a guide's call, and the normal cancellation policy applies.
If we cancel. If we have to cancel for any other reason (for example, a guide is ill or injured), we'll offer a new date or a full refund, your choice. Our liability for a cancellation is limited to what you paid us for the ride.
During the ride. Ride length is measured from the agreed meeting time. Running late on your end doesn't extend the booked time, and time beyond the booking is billed at $100 per hour per guide, in agreement with you. If a guide ends a ride early for safety or under Section 4, no refund is due unless the cause was ours.
4. Rider requirements
To ride with us, you must:
Be 18 or older.
Hold a valid motorcycle license or M1/M-class endorsement for where we're riding, and carry it on the ride.
Ride your own street-legal motorcycle that is currently registered and insured (at least the legal minimum liability) and in good mechanical condition: tires, brakes, chain, lights, and fluids. Dirt routes require a bike and tires suited to dirt.
Wear a DOT-compliant helmet and riding gear: jacket, gloves, over-the-ankle boots, and riding pants.
Be sober. No alcohol, cannabis, or impairing drugs or medications before or during the ride.
Obey all traffic laws, posted signs, and land-use rules, and ride within your own skill level.
Tell us honestly about your experience, and about any medical condition that could affect your riding.
Sign our Release of Liability before the ride.
Guides can refuse or remove a rider. A guide may refuse to start, change the route or pace, or end the ride for any rider who doesn't meet these requirements, appears impaired, rides dangerously, ignores instructions, or whose bike or gear seems unsafe. If that happens for a reason within your control, no refund is due.
Guides lead the route. They don't control your riding. You are responsible for your own bike, your decisions, and how you ride.
Passengers and group sizes are allowed only if we agree in writing beforehand.
5. Equipment rental terms
Rentals currently include Sena 50-series intercoms, GoPro cameras, an Insta360 camera, and a DJI Neo 2 follow drone. The DJI Mavic 3 Pro is not rented. Our licensed pilot flies it.
Condition. You get gear in working order. Check it at handoff and tell us about any problem right away. Otherwise it's treated as having been received in good condition.
Deposit. Each item has a refundable damage deposit, listed on the Guided Rides page, held or charged to your card before the ride. It's released within 7 days after the gear comes back complete and in working order.
Damage and loss. You're responsible for the gear from handoff until return. Lost, stolen, or damaged gear (including chargers, mounts, cases, and memory cards) is charged at repair cost or current replacement cost, whichever is less, up to full replacement cost. We first deduct from your deposit. Anything above the deposit is invoiced to you, and you agree to pay it. Normal wear and tear is not charged.
Return timing. Return the gear at the end of the ride day, or at the time we agree. Late returns are charged the day rate for each extra day. Gear not returned within 7 days of the due date is treated as lost.
Mounting cameras. If you or we mount cameras or other gear to your bike or helmet, you accept the risk. Mounts can loosen, block your view, distract you, or damage paint or parts. We're not responsible for damage to your bike or helmet, or for lost footage, except for our gross negligence or willful misconduct. Check mounts and stop if anything seems loose.
Drone (Neo 2). If you fly it, you must follow FAA rules and local law (including registration and recreational-flyer rules where they apply). Don't fly in national parks, near airports, over crowds, or in restricted airspace. You're responsible for fines and damage your flying causes.
Use. Gear is for your own use on the ride only. Don't lend it, sublet it, or open it up for repair.
6. Photos, video, audio, and usage rights
Ownership. We (or our photographer) own the copyright in all photos, video, drone footage, audio, and edits we create, including footage from cameras we mount on your bike and intercom audio we record.
Your license. When you've paid in full, you get a non-exclusive, perpetual license to use your delivered media for personal, non-commercial use: keep it, print it, and share it on your own social media (please credit and tag @2WheelTouring / @2wheeltouring707). Commercial use, such as advertising, sponsorship, resale, or stock, needs our written permission.
Our promotional use. We may use footage, photos, and audio from your ride, including your image, likeness, voice, and bike, on our website, YouTube, social media, and marketing, with no payment to you, unless you opt out in writing (email [email]) before the ride or within 14 days after delivery. If you opt out after something has been published, we'll stop new uses and remove what we reasonably can.
Audio. Helmet-com audio is recorded only when you buy that add-on, and everyone on the intercom must agree to be recorded. Tell us about anyone in your group who doesn't consent.
Delivery. Delivery times are estimates: about 7 days for photo galleries and about 14 days for edited films. Weather, conditions, equipment failure, and other things outside our control can affect what gets captured. We don't guarantee particular shots. If we deliver nothing usable in a package because of our own failure, we'll refund that package's price.
Drone. Drone work depends on airspace rules, weather, and site restrictions. If drone flying isn't allowed or safe, we'll skip those shots and refund or credit the drone add-on, prorated for any shots taken.
7. Shop orders and returns
Prices, products, and availability may change. We may limit or cancel orders, including for pricing errors, and we'll refund you in full if we cancel.
Taxes and shipping are shown at checkout.
Returns: [Return window, e.g., 30 days] from delivery for unworn, unwashed items in original condition. [Who pays return shipping.] Final-sale items: [list, e.g., custom or sale items]. To start a return, contact [email].
Damaged or wrong item: tell us within [7] days of delivery, with a photo, and we'll replace or refund it.
Risk of loss passes to you when the carrier delivers the order. Refunds go back to your original payment method.
8. Donations ("Buy us a coffee")
Donations are voluntary gifts to support our routes, videos, and site. They don't buy any goods, services, or membership. They're non-refundable except for a duplicate or mistaken charge reported within [30] days. Two Wheel Touring is not a charity, so donations are not tax-deductible.
9. Intellectual property
The site and everything on it are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and trademark law. That includes the name Two Wheel Touring, the 2WT logo and sticker art, route descriptions, GPX files, photos, videos, music videos, and text. Except as these Terms allow, you may not copy, distribute, modify, or commercially use any of it without our written permission. YouTube videos can be shared using YouTube's own sharing tools.
If you think something on our site infringes your copyright, contact [email] with the details.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Motorcycling is dangerous. Riding involves a risk of serious injury and death. Our Release of Liability on the Legal page governs guided rides and rentals.
As-is. Except as expressly stated in these Terms, the site, Ride Files, routes, and videos are provided "as is" and "as available," with no warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.
Limits. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site or our services is limited to what you paid us for the specific service the claim relates to in the 12 months before it arose (or $100 if you paid nothing).
What we don't limit. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for our gross negligence, fraud, willful misconduct, or violations of law, or any right that can't be waived under California law, including California Civil Code section 1668.
11. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Napa County, California, and you agree to those courts' jurisdiction. Small claims cases can be brought in the small claims court for Napa County. Before filing anything, please contact us and give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date. Changes don't apply retroactively to a ride already booked or a membership period already paid for. Continuing to use the site or our services after a change means you accept it.
13. General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a term isn't a waiver. These Terms, the Legal page and Release, and any invoice we send you are the whole agreement between us about their subject matter. You can't assign these Terms. We can assign them to a successor business.
